Christmas is over but Santa left some more presents for 2018. James Zabiela, a rare breed of artist, is expected at Jenja. Over the last 12 years he has become something of a heritage act despite still being 2 decades younger than his peers currently sharing that title; this, in part, is owing to his unrivalled live performances which have cemented him into the hearts of electronic music lovers. Coming from U.K. and mentored by Sasha, James’s releases are influenced by tech house and breakbeat stylings.
Known for his turntable skills, he gained fame in 2000 by winning various awards. He has the gift of making everyone in the crowd feel as he’s DJing just for them. Once the music starts, it’s not him and them: its everyone. He is a true technical Jedi and pushes the boundaries of DJing to its absolute limit.
For Cologne natives duo Andhim things went differently! When other kids were playing at the pool eating ice cream on their summer holidays, 16 years old Simon was scratching with several jazz-musicians through Europe while Tobias became a member of a Turnta- ble-Crew. The final chapter was at a Bavarian sausage-eating contest, facing each other in the final round covered from head to toe in sausage. They immediately knew what to do and founded “Andhim”. Their sound is unique and party proven. Energetic, creative and always entertaining, they present their very own interpretation of electronic music that makes dads cheer and mums scream. After massive gigs around the globe, the boys are excited to set Woobar on fire!
Last but not least, another german artist,
&ME will be rocking the same decks this coming month. When one could assume, &ME entered the House and Techno world some- what out of the blue, it is due to his modesty that’s already captured in his alias. His way to become one of today’s most praised and sought-after DJs is based on a solid foundation. Collaborations with stars like Nic Fanciulli or Rampa and productions on quality labels like Kompakt: his reputation as a gifted producer and DJ extraordinaire spread into international realms, and that’s where he stands right now, as his blend of Techno and soulful House music took incredible shape: one of the most unique and original figures in the game. Forget about quiet season, rain or volcano fears: in 2018, party is back in Bali. Let’s dance with the stars on the Island of Gods!■
