If you like the relaxed atmosphere, good music and fantastic food – Bow in Batu Belig should be on your list. In the hands of a French owner who spent last 20 years on the island of Gods and reflecting his personality – it is a super welcoming place, and you will feel like home immediately!

Jan came to Bali when there were no concrete roads, and everybody was like a family and if you had a party back then – everybody was invited. The restaurant was born four years ago and the name “Bow” referring to an arch, means we want to be flexible. We can adjust the place and settings as the guests want but always with that special Bali touch. On the big terrace, you have the breeze and the view of the rice fields and palm trees – Jan said.

His place is more than a restaurant since he loves music and musicians all over the island know him, so often Bow is a music stage with various bands performing. Any day in the week you can find some pretty good jamming there. So if you come for a dinner, you might be pleasantly surprised by the party vibes. Everyone who wants to play is welcomed, and you can find a most amazing crowd in Bow. Recently American musician Jim Larkin was celebrating his 80th birthday at the Bow, and it was a blast. International ambassador of blues, R’n’B and soul, Jim has been performing, writing, producing and developing great music for over 50 years and guests were truly amazed.

We want to create a place where everybody feels relaxed and happy because of the good vibes. Here girls come alone to have dinner and feel free and safe – like in a big family – Jan explains. And dinner and lunch are a story for itself. Everything is organic; chickens come from free range farm in Java, as well as tomatoes which are big and juicy and developed in collaboration with Japanese agronomist living in Java. Veggies are coming from Bedugul every day from the organic farm that Jan picked by himself. Because when it comes to food in Bow, they take it seriously.

They are known for their vast choice of tapas; they have Brazilian and Caribbean food as well as a collection of French dishes. But their couscous is widely known, and if you try it one thing is for sure – you will come for more! All that is prepared by Chef Mily with Japanese and Hawaiian background who adores cooking. So how can you resist this place full of happiness and love?■
