Bintang is cheap and can be found for 35 K rupiah for a big bottle.

The Bow Bar forming part of the Bow Restaurant presents an interesting combination of offers to liven up your week- end, particularly with the Week-End Special (Friday from 6pm to 8pm, and Saturday from 10pm to midnight) when all cocktails go for just 50 K rupiah. Capil Beach Bar & Grill

Double Six Beach is beach party central, and Capil Beach Bar & Grill is another contender for the best atmosphere of any beach bar. While Capil has plenty of the same old cosy bean bags and tables on the beach, along with great views of famous Kuta sunsets—the house band actually livens up the place. In the evening, the house band sets up on the beach playing chilled out covers and favourite party tunes. Better yet, guests are often welcome to take over the stage and sing a song or two of their choice. Capil’s friendly staff are also known to make amazing mojitos and the beers are cold, cheap and gulped with a lot of gusto.

Despite it’s name Sandbar isn’t actually on the beach, but just across the road on the Jalan Pantai Kuta beach walk. While you can’t dig your toes in the sand, you can enjoy cosy indoor seating under a thatched roof and open beam ceilings—watching the sunset melt over Kuta, cocktail in hand. Stylish and modern, Sandbar offers excellent value, with a huge menu of Mediterranean and Balinese favourites. Drinks are as cheap as you’ll find anywhere on the beach with 15 K Bintangs and fresh juices. Live music indoors is a regular feature too!

Zanzibar Beach Front

Not really on the beach but still with the same glorious views over Legian Beach— in a slightly more civilised atmosphere. A lot of Kuta’s beachfront restaurants can be more miss than hit when it comes to food, but Zanzibar’s menu of international crowd-pleasers is surprisingly reliable. Serving up authentic pizzas from their wood-fired oven, along with a wide array of seafood dishes and Indonesian favourites— all that with a sound of waves crashing just metres from your table. Zanzibar has Bintangs from 25 K, 50 K cocktails, and even a one-litre carafe of sangria to share with your buddies for 25 K!

Beer Vendors

To come to Bali and not try Bintang on the beach? Roving beer vendors with umbrellas and ice chests roam the beach not just in Kuta, but from Sanur to Canggu. With plastic crates to sit on, or deck chairs for rent, you can set up your pop-up beach bar anywhere you like. Patrons often get to know their favourite vendors—and for some, the miraculous appearance of these booze-bearing Saints at just the right moment is one of biggest attractions of a Bali vacation. Imagine beers ‘delivered’ right when you’re nicely settled on your patch of the beach, and you really need them. Small Bintangs are 25 K rupiahs.
