Mothers! Move Away From the Kitchen!!

Scrawled crayon messages of love bearing hearts and stick figures, clumsily wrapped coffee mugs and something
that may have once resembled eggs on toast with a cold cup of tea. As far as Mothers Day presents go, I’ve received all of these and more from my children and honestly, I’ve cherished every single one, no matter how inedible!

For many countries around the world, the second Sunday in May is a day we dedicate to Mums. It’s important to remember that maternal figures in our lives might not only be our biological mothers, but also step mums, foster mums, adoptive mums, grandmas, aunts, big sisters, teachers, or even friends who have become role models. Whatever the form of your special Ibu, Sunday May 14th is the day to show her just how much she means to you.

Renowned for their Sunday evening dinners, The Smokehouse at Bistro C is carving up some succulent serves of their famous roasts for lunch as well as dinner this Mothers Day and there’s even a free glass of bubbles in it for mum too!

Starting from 11am, make Sunday May 14th a ‘dishes free’ affair and pop on down to Canggu Club for a family day out. Not just a chance to get away from the kitchen, they’re all over entertainment options for the kids as well. Grown ups can recline, relax and ‘rehydrate’ while the young ones wear out their energy with a free jumping castle, slip n slide and starlight movies on the big screen once everyone has enjoyed the sunset. Do her a REAL favour and book the little ones into Cubby House Kids Club across the road and treat Mum to an hour or three, free from the constant call of “Muuuuuuuummmm!!”

DJ, singer, saxophonist and seriously cool dude, Jimmy Rougerie will be there to en- tertain guests with not one, but two sets from 12-3pm and again from 6-9. Come for lunch, stay until late and make the most of May’s cooler dry season evenings. Bookings are advisable and you can reserve a table for your Mothers Day Sunday Roast experience by emailing: or by telephone: +62 361 8483939

Looking to earn even more brownie points? Book Mum in for a pamper session at Body Temple Spa. It’s just downstairs from Canggu Club reception so there’s no reason to travel far. Their May specials are just the ticket to get her glammed up and feeling gorgeous.

Take this opportunity to show mum how much she matters and give her a day she de- serves. Perhaps this year it might be wise to pass on trying to impress her with your own questionable culinary skills in the kitchen (chances are she’ll have to clean up an epic mess afterwards anyways hey kids???) and spoil her island style by booking a table at Canggu Club’s Bistro C.
