Previously known as Gajah Mada Town Festival in 2008, Denpasar Festival is an annual event initiated by Ida Bagus Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra— Mayor of Denpasar (2008–present). This event is regularly held at the end of the year as a platform to exhibit and develop creative industries in Bali, especially those beneficial to the people of Denpasar.
Denpasar Festival has brought up diverse forms of qualified creative and innovative works that have become the main component in developing the creative economy in Denpasar. Not just to make creativity alive, but also to contribute to the prosperity and the of the society.
The 8th Denpasar Festival this year will be taking “For the sake of Denpasar” as its main theme, making it a momentum for every responsible party in Denpasar to start stepping forward towards the betterment of the city. The theme would emphasize the importance of a two-way contribution between the government and the community in improving Denpasar’s domestic income and index of happiness.
The event will take place at Catur Muka Area, Jalan Gajah Mada, from December 28th to 31st. Come join and experience the spirit of local arts, food and life in the heart of Bali’s capital city!
