Ubud’s Splurging Best Resorts

Bali-Pocket-005---April-2016-144Ubud is a town in the center of Bali, and it is considered an arts and crafts hub. You will find numerous artists’ workshops and galleries there, as well as some remarkable architectural sights. For tourists who want to do some art classes, cooking workshops or find the most amazing massages on the island— this is the place.

Also for hippies at heart—there is no better place for yoga and numerous spiritual and dance classes. And don’t even let us get started on the food! Organic, clean, fresh, vegan, raw… Various restaurants offer plenty of choices for those who want to explore all the healthy options.

Although millions of tourists visit Ubud all year round, there are still budget places you can sleep at.

Ubud has many homestays which are the cheapest form of lodging, a good way to meet the locals, and the natural replacement for hostels on the backpacker circuit. If you want lower prices to try the areas around Jalan Hanoman, north of Jalan Raya Ubud and further out in Peliatan. In the low season especially, bargains can be had by those willing to bargain.

For example room with a bathroom, AC and hot water can be found starting at 150 000 rupiahs. You can also find mid-range prices from 250,000 to 1,000,000 rupiahs and splurge above one million per night.

Bare in mind that some of the most luxurious resorts in Asia are in Ubud, so expect superb standards, with prices to match. But you will get butler service, infinity edge pools and terraced rice paddies with a river rushing below.
